Purpose and Position
Responsible for providing
intensive one-on-one and small group instruction. To support this
work, these therapists will be responsible for maintaining a daily
data book for each child that will help in monitoring the child's
progress. They will also provide liaison with parents to discuss
the child's progress and goals, and work with a Senior Therapist
to ensure that the goals and outcomes defined in the child's Individual
Service Plan are being achieved through the intensive behavioural
intervention. Instructor-Therapists will be supervised by CEAP
Senior Therapists.
Skills and Knowledge
Instructor-Therapists
should be community college or university undergraduates in a
related field. Previous experience providing intensive behavioural
intervention would be of benefit. However, to support regional
programs in the start-up phase of the new initiative, as well
as to ensure a high standard of quality of clinical staffing,
all Instructor-Therapists will be required to participate in a
mandatory provincial training program.
This position requires travel within Durham Region therefore access to a vehicle is required.
