Parents who have registered for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) are invited to attend this information session to learn more about:
- Forms of communication
- Why motivation is important
- How can we create motivation?
- Preference assessments
- How to expect communication
Learning how to communicate our wants and needs is important for all individuals. While communication can take a variety of forms (verbal, PECS, Sign Language, etc.) the tips and tricks to facilitating their success remain the same. This workshop will aim to teach families the skills needed to be successful when introducing a communication system.
Parents/caregivers of a child aged 3-7 with ASD registered with the Ontario Autism Program Durham Region. No cost required.
