Parent, caregivers and professionals who support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), can struggle with motivating a child to learn new skills and complete a variety of known skills (e.g., social skills, daily living skills, emotional regulation).

The focus of this workshop is to provide practical strategies in order to help participants learn ways to reinforce desired behaviour in children. Topics that will be covered include:

  • Connection between motivation and reinforcement
  • Types of reinforcement
  • How to identify reinforcers
  • Do’s and Don’ts: How to use it
  • Advice on how to deal with toilet training setbacks and difficulties

Attendees will participate in interactive discussions and will receive resources to better understand how they can support children.
