Individuals with ASD often demonstrate social skills difficulties, which can impact their ability to make friends and develop meaningful social relationships. Parents/caregivers who have registered for Ontario Autism Program (OAP) are invited to attend this information session to learn more about developing their child’s social play and conversation skills with peers.
This session will address:
- Common social skills deficits in children with ASD
- Consequences of social deficits
- Evidence-based methods for teaching social skills
This workshop will aim to teach parents/caregivers the skills needed to be successful when supporting their children in social interactions with their peers.
Parents/caregivers of children aged 3 to 7 with ASD registered with the Ontario Autism Program and living in the Durham Region. No cost required.
If your child is not currently registered with the Ontario Autism Program but you are interested in our workshops, contact Lake Ridge Community Support Services at (905) 666-9688 to learn more.
