Parents who have registered for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) are invited to attend this parent workshop to learn more about:
- What sensory processing is
- How sensory impacts behaviour
- The link between sensory and self-regulation
- How to identify what triggers dysregulation
- Exploration of tools to support self-regulation at home and at school
Sensory processing impacts our ability to effectively engage with the world. Children who have difficulty with sensory processing benefit from environmental strategies that can make managing their world easier. This workshop aims to teach families about the complex world of sensory processing and self-regulation, and what to try when their child becomes dysregulated.
Eligibility Criteria: Parents/caregivers of a child with ASD registered with the Ontario Autism Program and living in the Durham Region. No cost required.
If your child is not currently registered with the Ontario Autism Program but you are interested in our workshops, contact Lake Ridge Community Support Services at (905) 666-9688 to learn more.
