Parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can struggle with motivating their child to learn new skills and complete a variety of known skills (e.g., social skills, daily living skills, emotional regulation).
The focus of this workshop is to provide practical strategies in order to help parents learn ways to reinforce desired behaviour in their child. Topics that will be covered include:
- Connection between motivation & reinforcement
- Types of reinforcement
- How to identify reinforcers
- Do’s and Don’ts: How to use it
Parents/caregivers will participate in interactive hands-on activities and will receive resources to help support your child at home.
Parents/caregivers of children with ASD registered with the Ontario Autism Program and living in the Durham Region. No cost required.
