Behaviour Consultant (Vacant - Full-time, 1 Year Contract)
Lake Ridge Community Support Services (LRCSS) has a full-time, 1 year contract position for a Behaviour Consultant. The role of the Behaviour Consultant will be providing behaviour therapy services to assigned children, youth and/or adults with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder within LRCSS. The successful candidate will report to the Clinical Manager.
Qualifications
What’s your role?
Develops and oversees program design and implementation, trains mediators, writes programs and communicates with stakeholders
Provides assessment and treatment for clients including observing and monitoring behaviours
Facilitates telehealth/in person services
Prepares clinical reports that include Quality Assurance Measures (QAM), Behaviour Support Plan (BSP), Progress Report, Transition Plan, etc.
Attends meetings with the Clinical Manager and liaises with community professionals, agencies and clients/caregivers
Conducts mediator workshops, facilitates groups on client-based interventions, creates internal/external training workshops for staff (i.e., lunch and learn)
Researches for projects and participates as a member of various committees/teams, as assigned
Makes decisions related to behaviour therapy services in collaboration with the Clinical Manager
Acts as clinical lead observing, collaborating, assigning tasks, providing feedback and monitoring the performance of assigned Behaviour Technicians, where applicable
What skills are we looking for?
University degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years’ related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) or working towards full registration with the CPBAO by 2025 (or by 2026 may also be considered)
Good knowledge of intervention strategies based on assessment results and scientific evidence
Demonstrated ability to describe common functions of behaviour and analyze data
Ability to identify essential components of a behaviour reduction plan
Ability to establish good working professional relationships with clients, caregivers and community professionals
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to provide behaviour therapy services to clients and facilitate meetings
Excellent problem-solving skills to assess behaviours, create treatment plans and resolve client issues
Knowledge of Google Workspace and ability to use office equipment efficiently
Ability to travel within the region and work flexible hours, as required
Salary Range: $69,000 - $73,000 per year based on a 35-hour work week.
