Virtual Peer-to-Peer Support for Autism Families

Collaborating for Better Outcomes

Caregivers & family members share their experiences and support one another in these Lake Ridge Community Support Services facilitated discussions. These interactive group sessions will allow participants to:

  • Connect with their peers.

  • Share lived experiences and best practices.

  • Gain tools to help better support themselves and the individual(s) they care for.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must care for a child under 18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • That individual must be registered with the Ontario Autism Program with an OAP Registration Number

Participation Requirements

  • Access to an internet connection

  • Electronic device with camera and microphone

  • Private space for participating (if possible)

Parents and caregivers learn about caregiver burnout and discuss strategies to cope with the demands of life as a caregiver to a child with autism in a supportive group.

Brothers and Sisters learn about autism and share their experiences in supportive and collaborative group sessions for siblings aged 8-15.
